The Company of Biologists free open access publishing

OVERVIEW

EIFL has negotiated a free read & publish agreement with The Company of Biologists on behalf of authors from eligible EIFL countries. This means that corresponding authors from these countries will not have to pay any Article Processing Charges (APCs) for open access publishing when an article is accepted for publication by any one of the journals published by The Company of Biologists: Development, Journal of Cell Science, Journal of Experimental Biology, Disease Models & Mechanisms, and Biology Open.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

The agreement is valid for three hybrid journals published by The Company of Biologists: Development, Journal of Cell Science, and Journal of Experimental Biology and two fully open access journals Disease Models & Mechanisms and Biology Open 

Below are the agreed terms: 

No Article Processing Charges fees for corresponding authors from: Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Congo, Côte d'Ivoire, Ethiopia, Fiji, Georgia, Ghana, Kenya, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Lesotho, Malawi, Maldives, Moldova, Myanmar, Namibia, Nepal, North Macedonia, Palestine, Senegal, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Zambia, Zimbabwe

Article types:

• Article types covered: research articles, this means original research papers relating to original research.
• Article types NOT covered: review papers, commentaries, correspondence, corrections, additions, posters or any other content or material.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Corresponding authors from Eligible Countries will be automatically recognized when submitting their article to an eligible journal from The Company of Biologists and will be offered the applicable APC waiver.
